Fish and Chips using Beer



Ingredients:

  • 1kg fish fillet
  • 7tbsp all purpose flour
  • 7tbsp corn starch
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 can cold beer
  • 1/3 cup cold sparkling water
To-do:
  1. Set aside 2tbsp all purpose flour.
  2. Mix the remaining 5tbsp all purpose flour, 7tbsp corn starch, baking powder, salt and black pepper.
  3. Then add cold beer and sparkling water. Mix well until you have a thick, smoot batter.
  4. Place the batter in the fridge to rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Meanwhile, lay fish on a paper towel and pat dry. Season with little salt.
  6. Heat oil.
  7. Coat the fish fillet to the remaining 2tbsp all purpose flour then dip into the prepared batter.
  8. Then fry until the batter is crisp and golden.
