Sesame Chicken



Ingredients:

For marinating (min. 30 minutes in the fridge)

  • 1 boneless chicken thigh (diced cut) / around 300g
  • 1/2tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4tsp ngohiong / five spice powder
  • 1/2tbsp shaoxing wine
  • 1/2 egg white
  • 2tbsp cornstarch
For air frying
  • Cornstarch
For coating
  • 80ml water
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 3/4 thumb size grated ginger
  • 1 1/2tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 1/2tbsp honey
  • some cornstarch solution (cornstarch with water)
  • toasted sesame seed
Air fry: 200 grad for 10 minutes one side, flip over and fry again for another 5 minutes

To-do:
  1. Mix all marinating ingredients and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  2. Pre-heat air fryer. Coat the chicken well with cornstarch. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes. Then dab or spray some oil (two sides) on the chicken before air frying. Then air fry at 200 grad for 10 minutes for one side, flip over and fry again for another 5 minutes.
  3. Now preparing the sauce. Add water with garlic and ginger. Mix well.
  4. Then add soy sauce and honey. Mix well. 
  5. Add cornstarch solution and mix well. Turn off the heat. Coat with fried chicken.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seed and mix well.
  7. Ready to eat :)
