Wheel Cakes / Red Bean Cakes with Custard Creme and Red Bean Paste




Wheel Cakes batter
  • 2pcs eggs
  • 30g sugar
  • 15ml oil
  • 150ml milk
  • 5g soda powder
  • 200g flour


To-do: 
  1. Mix eggs, sugar, cooking oil and milk together. Don't over mix
  2. Through sieve, add soda powder and flour
  3. Mix all well. The batter texture is like yogurt texture.
  4. Let it rest for 20mins
Red Bean Paste
  • red bean
  • brown/white sugar
  • salt
  • cooking oil
To-do: 
  1. Cook red bean until soft. Separate 1/4 of red bean in another bowl
  2. The rest of red bean, blend it with mixer until smooth.
  3. Then mix the smooth red bean with the separate one.
  4. Add a little bit of oil in the frying pan, add red bean
  5. Stir red bean continuously in low heat until shaped (around 15mins)
  6. Add brown sugar and salt.
  7. if it is too dry, you can add a little bit of water (depend on your red bean paste purpose)


Custard Creme
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 60g sugar
  • 20g flour
  • 250g milk
  • 15g butter
  • Vanilla essence
To-do:
  1. Mix egg yolks and sugar until soft cream color. Add 20g flour, mix well
  2. In another pan, cook milk and butter in low heat until half boil
  3. Pour milk butter mixture to the egg yolks mixture slowly then mix well
  4. Strain through whisk and boil in low heat. Add vanilla essence
  5. Cook until pudding consistency.
  6. When it's ready wrap with plastic and pressed the custard with plastic wrap.
